We are thrilled to introduce our very first newsletter dedicated to keeping you informed about the latest developments in the Palm Springs Parks and Recreation Master Plan! As we embark on this journey together, we are excited to share updates, upcoming events, and opportunities for you to engage with us.
What we’ve been up to
In Phase 1 of the Palm Springs Parks and Recreation Master Plan we worked to understand and analyze existing conditions and perceptions from the community. After our first workshop, we engaged the community in two events: We had a station at the Black History Parade and Festival on February 24th and at the ONE-PS Picnic & Community Expo 2024 on March 23rd.
We are now in phase 2 which will focus on hearing from you about new parks, facilities, and programs.
Out and About
Our next community meeting is coming up in a few weeks! Come join us at the James O. Jessie Desert Highland Unity Center in May. For more information about upcoming events, check out our events page on the official Palm Springs Parks and Recreation Master Plan website. We'll also be popping up for focus groups this month, so say hi if you see us tabling!
Give us feedback TODAY!
Please take a moment to fill out our official community survey and share your thoughts on the new parks, facilities, and programs you would like to see. There will be a randomly selected survey sent out to some residents to be used as the statistically valid data collected but we will take all surveys collected into account when making recommendations for the future of Palm Springs Parks.
What's to come
Mark your calendars for our next workshop scheduled for May 22nd at James O Jessie Park! We are eager to gather more information on new programs and facilities that will enhance the Palm Springs parks system for all to enjoy.
